What is Fitness?

The textbook definition, or in our day and age the Google definition, the term fitness is a noun described as the condition of being physically fit and healthy. Today fitness can look very different depending on the person and the way they love to be physical. For example, there’s the gym. Now a days going to the gym can look like traditional weight lifting, Olympic lifting, CrossFit, but there also are sprinkles of classes such as yoga, and Zumba. Out of the gym there are places like Jazzercise, Club Pilates, Orange theory, Soul cycle, and plenty of other ways to get your fitness in during the day or week.
In my opinion, fitness is just getting up and moving. I always like to do a poll asking my followers if they are moving today? This is because my movement for the day might not be the same for everyone. Now, they probably wouldn’t be following me because I mainly post weightlifting content but I also like to dabble in other areas such as hot yoga, and running from time to time ( I’m just not confident to post me doing it just yet).
Fitness is something that you should want to do, I would say the L-word but sometimes fitness and I don’t even see eye to eye. If becoming physically active is a goal for you I highly suggest going to different gyms, take different classes, join a Facebook walking group that meets up twice a week. You will find your shade under the umbrella of fitness you just need to start somewhere.
